SCOPE OF WORK

To replace an old 140kW Heenan inverter that

was prone to failure and required a lot of time

and money to maintain not to mention the cost/

implication of any loss of production.

Because of MKE and ABB’s quick response and

competitive quoting, we were able to secure the order

ahead of other contractors being considered.

Working in partnership with ABB as a value provider

(VP) MKE were able to offer not only a competitive

price but also back it up with the support and service

from our ABB trained engineers.

The VSD we recommended was a 160kW ACQ580-34

Low Harmonic Inverter. The -34 was selected as these

are drive modules designed to be installed into cabinets

with limited space available.

Being low harmonic, the total harmonic distortion

(TDH) is between 2 and 4%.

With a successful installation and commissioning, the

customer was very happy and have indicated that they

will be looking to MKE and ABB to complete others in

the near future.
