Toboggan motor replacement
at Chatham Snowsports Centre
The Challenge
Our gearbox and motor departments were recently called upon to assist with a repair at Chatham Snowsports Centre in Medway, where a toboggan ride had unexpectedly gone out of service. The customer reported that the electrics were tripping whenever the ride was in operation, causing significant downtime and impacting the visitor experience. Our engineers conducted a series of electrical tests to identify the root cause of the fault. The investigation revealed a motor failure, which was determined to be the source of the tripping issue.
The Solution
The faulty motor was safely removed and replaced with a new unit by our motor specialists. After installation, the entire toboggan ride underwent comprehensive testing to ensure functionality, safety, and compliance. The ride was successfully brought back into full operational status within a short timeframe, minimising disruption to the site’s operations.
